One of our initiatives in going green is to reduce the carbon emissions getting to and from work. Probably the easiest ways of doing this are utilizing public transportation and organizing a carpool program. As most AMIGOS employees at the Intenational Office live fairly close to each other in a few neighborhoods, we have come up with a carpooling program (attached spreadsheet). The AMIGOS International Office is getting together a group of volunteers for 2008 Arbor Day: To Plant an Urban Forest. This is the first of many service events the AMIGOS Green Team will plan. In addition to making efforts to contribute to a 'greener' workplace through paper reduction and car pooling, AMIGOS staff also want to demonstrate our support for the environment with our service. Hello everyone, Check out the attached document about what it takes to gain LEED certification for IO as an existing building. Make Happy Hour green! Thursday Nov 8th marks the next session of Green Drinks. Green Drinks is a monthly informal gathering of people interested in Houston's environment. We'll meet at Field of Greens restaurant, 2320 West Alabama. Field of Greens offers tasty meals with many vegetarian and vegan dishes available.
